What Is Periodontal Therapy?

Periodontal therapy includes both surgical and non-surgical techniques to restore health to the tissues that support the teeth (gums and bone) and prevent tooth loss.

For adults, periodontal (gum) diseases, not tooth decay, are the major cause of tooth loss. Perio- dontal diseases are caused by bacterial infections that attack gums, ligaments and bone. Often painless, these diseases may develop slowly or progress quite rapidly, and can occur at any age.

What Is Gum Therapy?

What is Gum Recontouring?

Dentists use a soft tissue laser for minimally invasive gum lifts. The dental laser gently removes excess soft tissue, sealing the gums as it goes, so there is no bleeding and no sutures are required.

If your teeth appear short, stubby, or small, a fuller smile may be hiding behind excess gum tissue. Chat with your dentist today!
